Monday evening, during our prayer time, we were talking about prayer and how sometimes we may feel like God may get tired of hearing our same old petitions all the time. I think we need to be reminded, as I was, by Bro. David, that God WANTS to hear our prayers over and again. He tells us in Scripture, that "the fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much." I looked up that word "fervent" or "fervently" again to refamiliarize myself with it. It means, accordion the 1828 Webster's dictionary, "Earnestly; eagerly; vehemently; with great warmth. Earnestly; eagerly; vehemently; with great warmth." So if we pray as He instructed--"fervently" then we are praying continuously, earnestly eagerly, etc. Again, that is what God wants. He wants us to be so in tune with Him, and so in tune with our family, friends, and church that we are fervent in our prayer. He WANTS to hear from us so that we can grow deeper in our relationship to Him.

We sometimes have difficulty with the fact that the God of the universe, the one who created everything, wants a relationship with me. He provided His ONLY Son to die for our sins so that His love might shine in us and through us. In return we are to desire to run to Him in ALL things. Jesus loves us so much that he paid the price for our sins, SO THAT we can and will come to Him for personal relationships. However, I was reminded by someone else just recently that we too often think we are too dirty and sinful to run to Him even after He has forgiven us and we have accepted that forgiveness. We exhibit that by refusing to go to Him or by piously saying that "I don't deserve to go to Him." Both of those are sinful on our part. We need to run to Him and jump into His open arms and spend time with Him so that we can prepare for an eternity in His presence.

Are You ready for eternity? Where will you spend it? In heaven in the presence of Christ our Savior, or in eternal torment of hell. I hope it is in the presence of Christ. If not, please contact me so I can share with you how you might be eternally saved from the depths of hell and spend eternity in the presence of the most amazing one who saved us by His grace.
